home : british sign language & braille and audio tape services
If you need to communicate with deaf people, we have BSL interpreters available for meetings and consultations.
British sign language is a language in its own right and as with verbal interpreting, our interpreters abide by a strict code of ethics, covering impartiality, accuracy and confidentiality. The BSL interpreters we work with have passed their NVQ level 4 and will be registered with the CACDP (Council for the Advancement of Communication with Deaf People) and/or ASLI (The Association of Sign Language Interpreters).
For sign language bookings, we ask for as much notice as possible. We often cover short-notice appointments but these cannot be guaranteed due to the availability of BSL interpreters.
We also transcribe materials into Braille, such as meeting agendas and minutes, leaflets and promotional materials and standard letters.
We can also offer an audio-tape transcription service where leaflets etc are read onto tapes or CDs.
